Dodoex liquidity withdrawals follow different rules across pool types
Dodoex liquidity can incur different exit costs because V1 penalties, V2 share redemptions, and vault withdrawals follow different rules. Before a first deposit, identify the position type, expected withdrawal assets, and minimum receipt. Include gas and any later conversion when comparing the amount you could recover.
Last updatedA withdrawal preview below the expected amount
A lower withdrawal preview can reflect a V1 penalty, a changed pool composition, or confusion between receipt tokens and underlying assets. Start with the pool type and the units beside each amount. Reading those details requires no transaction. An unexplained difference is a reason to pause the deposit, especially if the preview omits the assets you expect to receive. Repeatedly submitting the same request cannot resolve a misunderstanding about what the position represents.
Position ownership before the first deposit
The claim a deposit creates determines what you must hold or control when leaving. Establish that claim before comparing returns.
Public pool shares
DODO V2 public pools issue shares representing a proportional interest in pool assets. Subsequent deposits generally follow the pool’s existing asset ratio. A single-token pool’s creation method does not promise unrestricted single-token deposits throughout its life. Trading can change its inventory before another provider joins.
Shares held in liquidity mining
A mining contract can hold the LP tokens a withdrawal requires. The wallet’s spendable share balance then differs from the total position. Unstaking releases those shares; redeeming them removes the underlying pool liquidity. These operations have different purposes, even when an interface presents them together.
Private pool control
A DODO Private Pool permits its creator to supply and manage liquidity. Its appearance in a trading route does not give every trader deposit rights. Before committing funds, distinguish a public pool share from the creator’s authority over a private pool.
V1 inventory and the withdrawal penalty
An open DODO V1 pool can deduct a penalty when withdrawing an asset already in short supply moves its inventory further from equilibrium. The asset and requested amount therefore matter. A quoted penalty for one side does not establish the cost of withdrawing the other side.
DODO V1 distributes withdrawal penalties to liquidity providers who remain in the pool. The mechanism compensates the remaining position holders for the withdrawal’s effect on pool pricing. It is separate from the blockchain charge for executing the transaction.
The penalty calculation uses pool state at execution. An earlier preview cannot lock that state while other transactions change inventory. A deposit-time estimate consequently describes that moment, rather than the cost of an eventual exit.
A partial withdrawal and a full withdrawal can produce different penalty amounts. Scaling an earlier quote by the requested token amount can miss the curve’s response. Each withdrawal size needs its own calculation against the applicable inventory.
Waiting may change the penalty if trading restores balance. It does not establish a deadline for a cheaper exit. The position remains exposed while funds stay in the pool, and a later withdrawal can face different conditions.
Does a V2 withdrawal return the tokens I deposited?
A DODO V2 public-pool withdrawal returns a proportional share of its current token balances, which can differ from the quantities originally deposited.
For the DODO Vending Machine and DODO Stable Pool, each output amount follows the same relationship: pool token balance multiplied by shares redeemed, divided by total shares. Contract rounding applies. The calculation uses the respective balance of each asset, so a position can return less of one token and more of the other after trading changes inventory.
A proportional redemption does not itself convert everything into a preferred asset. If the intended exit ends with one token, any subsequent swap has its own quote, trading costs, and execution conditions. Compare the full intended outcome with the deposit, rather than comparing unlike token quantities.
Minimum receipts and transaction deadlines
Withdrawal protections limit what a transaction may accept when pool conditions move between the preview and execution. Their names and coverage differ by contract.
V1 minimum receipt
The DODOV1Proxy withdrawal methods accept a minimum receipt. A withdrawal returning less than that amount reverts. This matters because transaction ordering can change the penalty before execution. Direct calls to the older pool withdrawal methods lack the proxy’s minimum-receipt protection. A missing protected route is a reason to stop, rather than bypass the safeguard.
V2 token minimums
DODO V2 public-pool share redemption checks separate minimum output amounts for the base and quote tokens. Its deadline also limits when the request can execute. A failed minimum check calls for a fresh assessment of the outputs; lowering the threshold simply permits a smaller receipt. Neither protection fixes the market value of the returned assets.
Gas and conversion costs outside the pool
Network execution costs remain relevant even when a pool applies no withdrawal penalty. Approval, unstaking, redemption, and conversion can require separate transactions, depending on the position and route. Count only the operations the intended exit actually requires. A wallet holding enough LP shares can still lack the network’s native asset needed for gas.
Gas does not necessarily fall in proportion to the withdrawal amount. Repeated small exits can therefore increase the total execution cost.
Distinguish an estimated charge from the charge recorded after execution. A transaction that reaches execution and reverts can consume gas despite returning no withdrawn assets. Repeating it without resolving the failing condition adds cost without changing the position.
V3 vault cash and redemption capacity
DODO V3 vault deposits produce dTokens, whose exchange rate determines the underlying withdrawal amount. The vault lends assets to market-making pools, so its accounting value can include outstanding borrowing. The actual token transfer still requires sufficient cash in the vault. A displayed claim therefore does not prove the entire amount can leave immediately. For a first deposit, distinguish the receipt token’s value from available withdrawal liquidity; a shortage requires changed liquidity conditions, not a more permissive slippage setting.
Comparing a partial exit with a full exit
If an exit preview shows fewer tokens than expected, compare a partial withdrawal with a full withdrawal before changing the position. Keep the pool, asset identities, and account consistent. Record each request’s share amount, expected token outputs, applicable penalty, and gas estimate. Neither request promises a fixed recovery amount.
| Withdrawal stage | Condition or completion evidence |
|---|---|
| Request the withdrawal preview | Compare partial and full amounts against the same pool state. |
| Check withdrawal dependencies | The route must support the position, with available shares, required authorization, and gas. |
| Submit the chosen withdrawal | Execution must satisfy the applicable output limits and deadline. |
| Confirm receipt of assets | A successful receipt, reduced position claim, and matching token transfers establish completion. |
If the shares remain staked, first resolve that dependency through the position’s supported unstaking operation. If the withdrawal route does not support the position, stop before signing. After submission, a pending transaction calls for a status check, not another identical request. A confirmed failure requires identifying the failed condition before retrying. Successful execution establishes the actual receipt for that withdrawal; it does not validate a future quote.
Can trading fees cover the cost of leaving?
Trading fees can offset exit costs, but the amount earned depends on actual pool activity and the position’s share of fee income.
In DODO V1 and V2 PMM pools, LP fee revenue accrues within the pool and contributes to the position’s withdrawal value. V3 vault depositors instead earn borrowing interest through the dToken exchange rate. A displayed annualized return does not establish how much a short holding period will earn. Mining rewards add a separate component with their own accrual and claim rules. Compare the withdrawal value and realizable rewards with the original assets and execution costs, using a consistent valuation basis. Avoid counting fee income twice if the quoted position value already includes it.
PMM inventory and changes in position value
The Proactive Market Maker adjusts trading prices as inventory changes, which helps explain why an exit can differ from the original deposit. The guide price and curve settings influence trading behavior, while the selected pool model determines the withdrawal calculation. These mechanisms do not promise preservation of the deposit’s market value.
Token quantities and token values answer different questions. A position can return the expected quantity while its market value falls. It can also gain fee income while underperforming simply holding the original assets. Neither outcome proves the pool charged an undisclosed withdrawal fee. Separating inventory changes from explicit deductions makes the discrepancy easier to diagnose.
First-deposit verification and the stop point
Before signing a first liquidity deposit, confirm the exact pool family, accepted assets, and claim the deposit creates. The withdrawal review should identify the assets returned, any inventory-dependent penalty, and the protection against an unacceptable receipt. Include a mining position only if it forms part of the intended deposit arrangement.
Record the proposed deposit amounts and expected shares alongside the pool identity. Check that the wallet retains gas for the intended exit and that the withdrawal route supports the position. An unexplained preview, unavailable withdrawal protection, or unsupported redemption route leaves the exit unresolved. Pausing before the deposit preserves the assets in the wallet; depositing first creates exposure before that uncertainty has an answer.
Dodoex liquidity: reader questions
Why might a DODO liquidity position appear as an NFT?
DODO AMM V3 represents concentrated-liquidity positions with NFTs. That position model differs from V2 PMM pool shares and V3 vault dTokens. Before a deposit, identify the position manager and its withdrawal operations. The NFT identifies the position; its presence alone does not mean withdrawn tokens have reached the recipient.
How does rounding affect a very small V2 withdrawal?
V2 public-pool redemption rounds calculated token outputs down to whole units of each token’s smallest denomination. A sufficiently small share redemption can therefore produce no units of one output token. Token decimals and pool balances determine the effect, so a universal minimum expressed in ordinary token units would be misleading.
Is the vDODO redemption fee part of an ordinary pool withdrawal?
The vDODO redemption fee belongs to exchanging the membership token for DODO. It does not set the withdrawal penalty for V1 liquidity or the redemption calculation for V2 pool shares. Confirm which receipt token the transaction consumes before applying a fee description to a first liquidity position.
What happens to mining rewards when I unstake LP tokens?
Reward handling depends on the mining contract version. DODOMineV1 withdrawal methods also transfer accrued rewards. DODOMineV2 provides separate reward-claim methods, so unstaking alone should not serve as proof of reward collection. The underlying LP position also remains distinct from the mining rewards.
Does V2 share redemption charge the pool’s trading fee?
The DVM and DSP share-redemption calculations return proportional token balances without applying the pool’s swap fee to those outputs. A later conversion is a trade and has separate costs. Network gas and any additional operations in the chosen withdrawal route also remain outside that proportional calculation.
Can a V1 deposit bonus fund an immediate profitable withdrawal?
V1’s deposit-reward and withdrawal-penalty design prevents a risk-free immediate round trip. Where a deposit earns an inventory-balancing reward, withdrawing immediately incurs a larger penalty. A displayed deposit reward therefore does not establish a profit available simply by depositing and reversing the position.
Will a stablecoin pool preserve the cash value of my withdrawal?
A stablecoin pool does not fix the external cash value of the tokens it returns. A token can lose its peg while the pool still calculates withdrawals under its normal rules. The exit assessment must distinguish the number of tokens received from their market value and any cost of converting them.
